Wadi Jones also known as B-boy Skye is 24 years old and was born in St. Anns Jamaica. He is a self taught break dancer and hip hop choreographer who has been break dancing for 13 years and teaching dance for 9 years. He has taught for sleepy hollows performing arts center, Tappan Zee Dance, Josie’s International school of dance, and Darcy’s Academy of Dance. He also works as a dance motivator for TKP (Tomas Kaufman Productions). He has taught dance in the Ossining school district through Ossining performing arts at Claremont elementary and Anne M. Dorner middle school. He has performed at the Peekskill water front two years in row with his crew the Freestyle Rockerz and has had the opportunity to work with the Simons sister on a Pastry web commercial. He has danced in time square on the set of a boost mobile commercial and was a backup dancer in a music video for a new upcoming artist by the name of Lalibella.
He has also been premiered on So You Think You Can Dance season 7 given the opportunity to show case his dance skills along with his talent in Le Parkour/Freerunning. This past year Wadi made it as a top 20 finalist on season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance and was given the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Dave Scott, Chris Scott, Sonya Tayeh, Tyce Diorio, Sean Cheesman, and Jean-Marc Denereux. Soon after the show he worked on two different MTV sets doing a commercial for Xbox 360’s Dance central 2 and the O-music awards along with a bumper for MTV Jams. Because of his stunting and freerunning background Wadi was also given the opportunity to work with Gary Land in an action packed espionage Samsonite luggage commercial, running on the rooftops of Boston.
Wadi Jones aims to extend his talents and knowledge of dance to people all over. He would like to give the next generation of kids an opportunity to open there minds and hearts to something new and different where they can find a deep love for Dance as he has. “Dancing is my life and our kids are our future. With out new faces to teach and new students that are willing to learn, the world of dance would no longer exist. Let us create a brighter future together through Dance!”
