I AM A LEADER BECAUSE… CAMPAIGN

The 2nd aids2031 Young Leaders Summit was hosted in partnership with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The meeting in Oslo, Norway from June 23-25, 2009 brought together young leaders from around the world to discuss challenges and solutions to address youth-related stigma and discrimination around HIV and AIDS.

Hope’s Voice produced a special video for the Young Leaders Summit. I am a leader because … inspires and supports young leaders. Hope’s Voice paired young leaders with established leaders for the powerful and personal video that highlights the need for support and collaboration between these very important groups.

“Linking established leaders with young leaders is instrumental to secure young leadership in the AIDS response. The elders have so much knowledge and experience which should be passed on to the younger generation. And the young leaders have essential experience concerning what is relevant from a youth perspective,” says HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, UNAIDS Special Representative and co-host of Young Leaders Summit.
